Anyway I can catch the Windows Key event but there isn't a returningĬancel flag that can be set so that the Windows key doesn't do the standard handling and anything I do in the Windows Key event handler does not stop the default Windows Start menu or other Windows Key + other key combination from coming up. Press the Windows key + W Type 'services,' and press Enter Scroll down to 'Touch screen keyboard and handwriting panel' You can right click and select 'Stop' or you can double-click and change it from 'Automatic' startup to 'Manual.' There are commerical Kiosk locking down applications that appear toĭisable the standard MS virtual keypad and use a keypad that does not have the Windows Key but they are geared toward Browser based Kiosk applications (this WPF one is going to be rewritten to be browser based but when is a question) plus companyĭoesn't want to pay for a commerical product since the possibillty is that this internal Kiosk could be put in mulitple compnay locations and like many companies there is cost saving concerns. Persists through a full restart and restarting of explorer.exethough restarting the explorer makes most of the icons viable again. This involves an internal company project that has become a Kiosk or Kiosks and so disabling the Windows key prevents the Windows menu coming up, that is the aim in this case.
